The requirement for a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment to be carried out has been in place since 2005 and there is no longer any excuse for the responsible persons. The Local Fire Authorities are now coming down hard on any responsible persons who do not have a Fire Risk Assessment in place.
Most importantly, the life safety of occupants in a building could be at risk without a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment which could result in injury or damage to property.
A large fine or even imprisonment can be given to the responsible person for failure to meet the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
