Wirral Fire Consultancy and Training is a new Fire Safety Consultancy company based on the Wirral. We offer a range of Fire Safety services such as Fire Risk Assessments, training and continued professional advice on all matters relating to fire safety and the ‘Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005’.
Wirral Fire Consultancy & Training is run by Mr Terry Graham BSc (Hons) Fire Safety. Terry has a degree in Fire Safety and has been working in the field of fire safety on a professional basis for over 10 years. He has spent many years working in a lead role for a number of Fire Consultancy companies.
The consultants at Wirral Fire Consultancy & Training are qualified and competent in carrying out Fire Risk Assessments across a broad spectrum of building types ranging from high-rise residential blocks, office blocks, shopping centres, industrial sites, music venues, sheltered / supported living accommodation, care homes and small airports. All consultants are fully versed in all the relevant British Standards and Building Regulations as well as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and PAS 79 on which the fundamentals of Fire Risk Assessment process is based. This knowledge allows us to raise the life safety of occupants in the building without being prescriptive in our recommendations. All consultants are affiliated members of the Institute of Fire Engineers (IFE) .
It is a legal requirement to appoint a competent person, as per the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, to carry out a fire risk assessment.
By doing this, the responsible person(s) offset their duty of care imposed by ‘Section 9’ the ‘Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005’. In other words the appointed competent fire safety consultant is now ultimately responsible in ensuring all fire aspects of the buildings inspected are highlighted providing clear concise information to allow the responsible persons to make informed decisions on how best to raise the life safety in the building.
Wirral Fire Consultancy & Training will help to save the responsible person money by taking a holistic risk assessed approach when inspecting a building. Our Consultants are experienced enough to be able to justify any variations from guidance with other compensatory measures which may be more cost effective without compromising the life safety of occupants.
We pride ourselves on providing a first class service both during and after any Fire Risk Assessment work has been carried out. We also offer free fire log books and continued advice post inspection and also offer a number of other services such as fire alarm installations, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, fire door inspection etc on request.
Remember, your fire risk assessment governs everything else. Whether you require an alarm or more detectors, fire doors, suppression systems, structural alterations (including fire rated partitions), additional means of escape… and the list goes on. Under-experienced assessors do not understand the areas where flexibility can be applied, that British Standards are only guides, and that an engineered approach may not only be more suitable, but a cheaper and less disruptive option for the business.
